Spring 2017 INNOVATIVE PR TEAM
Blake Hedberg: Manager/Graduate Assistant
Blake Hedberg will receive his bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from UCM in May 2017 with a Marketing minor. Blake will pursue an MBA in Marketing following graduation. Blake served as an account specialist with Innovative PR in Fall 2016, where he worked with the Dean of the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies on a social media re-branding project. During his undergraduate studies, Blake interned with Chick-fil-A Lee’s Summit as a PR/Marketing coordinator, expanding his skills beyond the classroom. Blake also stayed involved in several extracurricular organizations like the Public Relations Student Society of America as well as Sigma Pi Fraternity. Blake hopes to live in Kansas City while working in the agency sector of public relations.
Hali Mieser: Account Specialist
Hali Mieser is a senior Public Relations major from Warrensburg, Missouri. During the summer, Hali interned at Powell Gardens, Kansas City’s Botanical Gardens. There, she specialized in strategic event planning and crisis communication. This is her first semester working with Innovative PR and she is looking forward to experiencing all IPR has to offer. After graduation, Hali hopes to work in the agency world of PR.
Elizabeth Fisher: Account Specialist
Elizabeth Fisher is a senior Public Relations major, minoring in sports communication. This is her first semester working with Innovative PR. In the fall semester, Elizabeth interned for University Tees, where she specialized in building relationships with clients and creating business plans. This semester she also has an internship with Fight Colorectal Cancer, where she manages social media accounts and creates blog posts. Her on-campus activities include Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and working as the PRSSA secretary. Upon graduation, Elizabeth hopes to find a job in the St. Louis area to keep close to her family. She is looking forward to experiencing all IPR has to offer.
Jayla Kearney: Account Specialist
Jayla Kearney is a Public Relations student from Kansas City, Missouri. This is her first semester working for Innovative Public Relations. She has previously interned at Kansas City Power & Light, where she gained experience writing press releases, media advisories and talking points for the company representatives On campus, she has served as the Chair of Public Relations for the Association of Black Collegians, where she maintained relationships with leaders from other organizations and controlled all social media for the organization. After graduation, she hopes to work in the corporate sector of PR.
Cole Braun: Account Specialist
Cole Braun is a senior Public Relations major from Warrensburg, Missouri. He has previously worked in the Performing Arts Series office on campus and has worked on multiple small projects across campus. He joins the team for his first semester with Innovative PR and is excited to help continue the growth of the IPR brand. Some of his other past work has been with the UCM Unity Week, Phi Mu Alpha fraternity and he currently serves as the social media chair for PRSSA. After graduation, he is looking to stay in the agency world and journey to the city.
